This Top Local Multiplayer Game You've Probably Never Experienced Is Coming to Switch
The Wizard of Legend Sequel, an procedurally-generated adventure about sorcerers aiming to achieve status as legends, makes its debut to Nintendo Switch later this month. It will be accessible Nov. 25, providing devotees of shared-screen experiences a second chance to explore one of the year's strongest additions in this category.
A Rocky Start
The Wizard of Legend Sequel adopted the roadmap of many lesser-known releases. The development team made it available in pre-release in the fall of 2024 on PC platforms, prior to launching it completely, together with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, in mid-2025. At launch, it was widely panned. Merely under 30% of its audience ratings were positive. Its feedback on Steam are "varied", based on almost 2,000 evaluations, with many users critiquing the unrefined state and multitude of glitches initially. Console players further condemned that the co-op feature, a major attraction for the release, mostly failed.
Steady Refinements
But similar to several early access releases that release in imperfect forms, The Wizard of Legend Sequel has improved. Over the past few months, its developers have released several fixes designed to resolve these problems. Having played Wizard of Legend II more than any recent title in the current year, I can confidently say it performs better compared to upon release (for Xbox, at least). It has achieved the level where the vast majority of attempts, one can successfully start a cooperative run to work. Pretty good!
If It Functions, This Game Works
And if Wizard of Legend 2 functions, it works. From an isometric perspective, you fight through magic-oriented dungeons by using magic in action-oriented mechanics. A great deal of dashing, lots of evading, plenty of managing cooldowns. It's incredibly rapid and endlessly creative; when you mix and match your spells with a friend's, you can unleash powerful synergies.
Switch Release Specifics
While the Switch version is yet to be extensively tested, one should consider Nintendo's famously strict quality standards for Switch games. The development team stated via an announcement that the Nintendo release of The Wizard of Legend Sequel includes every patch that have been released this year.
